Compile and Install

Get Smil

# get it
git clone
# create a build directory
mkdir -p build
cd build

Configure Smil build

# The easiest way ..
# or, if you want to have access to all build options, 
# use ccmake..
ccmake ../smil

Build and install Smil

# parallel make : the usual suggested value of N is "1.5 * VCPUs"
make -j N
# option
make doc
# option but recommended
make test
sudo make install

Optimization for the architecture

The default compiler optimization option is for the processor architecture the package is being compiled : auto, that means the low level processor instruction set.
